common drug

diagnosis-schizophrenia
drug prescribed-risperidone,

diagnosis-alcoholic hallucinations
drug prescribed-risperidone

diagnosis-ADHD
drug prescribed-risperidone

think every tom dick and harry who comes to opd here with psychotic symptoms is given only this medicine!!...

p.s-actually am not in a position to judge this subject so early...!!!

do you think its a monopoly deal with drug companies?

i have been doing cognitive debriefings for quite a number of years now for mental disease, etc, and I know how the big pharma's push the medicines, and they do it through any means possible.

Ohh is it really? risperidone is the common drug for schizophrenia here.(as far as I know, nyway :P) But not sure abt the others.

Hmmm...my professor told us that here in Russia its the drug companies that dictate what drug a doctor may or may not prescribe. Its not in the hands of the individual practitioner.
Guess the same happens in India!!

Ha ha ha, good you notice! It means the med reps are doing a good job with the doctors in endorsing their products!

Anyway, I hope they are not too expensive for patients...and more than anything, hope they work!
