Home sweet home

MD cleared successfully.
Sr interview over.
Back home with a job.
Enjoying my break here. In fact summer holidays for me after ten years.
Movies, catching up with my old friends, good home food, sleep.

Belated diwali wishes to everyone....this time I got to spend it with my family(parents and friends).

Finally got my hands on this eBook....Amazon's kindle....its kinda portable,easy to use and with a good battery life.....(compared to other tabs)....

Hope I end up studying more and play less.....

In mysore now....yesterday had been to palace and krs dam...city is nice with a heritage lk ....good weather with friendly people...today we have planned short rd trip to nearby places..

break..

finally ward rotation over[after 4 months]..in periphery now....Radiotherapy division....department is pretty cool with very little work...just 10 to 1pm job.
          Then off to bangalore tonight....this will be my first travel in my state's travel bus[hugely popular airavat club class]..though quite expensive i hope its worth it...from there will be leaving to mysore for a  day from bangalore tomorrow morning....just a short trip to visit my old friends.

@ home after such a long time...for 3 days...

bengaluru was the city i grew up,had most of my education and place where most of my childhood memories are associated with....days where we used to go to school in cycles,a single poppins was everthing,had to save money for days to get a single cooldrink [pepsi/coke then were like amrutham],many big fights with bros,celebrating all the festivals together...

but now after joining my pg in pondicherry i badly miss all these...i miss fighting with my twin,ammas morning coffee,evening chat shop visits,feeding street dogs here etc..[list goes on]...

time passes away and life moves on but leaves a hundred memories to be cherished upon.....

p.s-

my turn to tc of my parents now and try to be a good son to them...

my every visit to this city now makes me nostalgic...

going out with my friends [for a 20rs treat]....

sleeping till the noon serials on tv wake u up...

arguing senselessly with bro.....[my twin]....

my city girls/anyone who looks 'decent'...

street dogs whom i love feeding biscuits.....

recession

everyone is talking abt it these days[from a chapraasi to a businessman]....predicting its outcome,effects etc...
but has it really affected common people and their living??..yesterday had been to jp nagar with my cousin[of course to eat] and there the prices of food items have sky rocketed[it costs more >1.5rs for a rd side panipuri now!] and people [like me] dont seem to mind shelling out their money when it comes to food.
In the battle between taste buds and wallet the former seems to be winning everytime;)

p.s-1) perhaps panip has been received well by my stomach..too much downloading has been going on today..:(
2) this snap was not taken by me..i goggled it.
3) and this blog hits crossed 10k mark 2 days back!!..

totally confused these days about how to spend my leisure time,not able to choose between movies,dr house,21/2men,going out with friends,ol,sleep...etc...

had been to lalbagh[after 10yrs] yesterday with one of my close friends...it was so much fun...

Pedicon 2009

myself and 3 of my friends visited the 46th national conference of India Academy of pediatrics....today was the 3rd day.
We got to see many new and latest drug displays along withthe latest upcoming technologies in the field.

As part of the conference a quiz show[all India Finale] was conducted[for UGs] in which our college[BMCRI] came second.Congratulations guys!!...[Banaras Hindu University students came first]

then we went to a nearby snack center where we satisfied our insatiable satiety center and then finally had some cotton candy[am having this after almost 10 yrs!]

idli,wada[- sambhar]

if ur a pakka southie then by now either u are fed up eating it or it still[atleast for me] remains one of your favourite break fast dishes..go anywhere u will find it,let it be a marriage,some pooja, at some one's home or any roadside fast food joint.
Veena stores[in Malleshwaram] is one of those fast food joints which is my fav when it comes to idli..u get really tasty crunchy vada with equally good chutney[but no sambhar]...i had it yesterday and in fact had a hard time getting the coupons....and i enjoyed it later;)

p.s- some say[psm text books] chutney is a good growth medium for s.thyphi[causative organism of Typhoid]

Smoking banned in India

The ban on lighting up rolled tobacco in public places came into effect from Thursday with hotels, restaurants, pubs, offices and even the international airports becoming out of bounds for smokers.

The ban will also cover even hookah bars and pubs as well as private offices and public places like bus stops.

Union Health Ministry issued a notification for the ban under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution), Act 2003.

The ban has evoked mixed response from smokers and non-smokers with some calling it a "draconian" measure while others consider it a "god-send" gift that may help them in

bringing down the intake of nicotine and reduce cutting a hole in their wallets

It’s a call to action to help people to understand their personal risk for cardiovascular disease including high blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar. There are five strategies to keep your heart healthy. These strategies include not "smoking or using tobacco products, to be active, to eat a heart-healthy diet, to maintain a healthy weight and get regular health screening"
