Delivery vs Engagement

Mechanism of delivery of a baby can always be compared to a girls Engagement[in India!]...

When a girl gets engaged[Engagement-1] and enters her in-laws house for the first time she greets them first[Flexion-2] and then turns and haves a quick glance[Internal rotation-3] at her future husband..impressed by all this she is then crowned[Crowning-4] by the pujari who is in turn a doc-DR[Delivery of head and Restitution-5,6] and at last she gets married in a exterior hall[External rotation-7] and conceives later and delivers[Delivery of shoulder-8]

p.s-this story was made by myself and my friend during obg pracs viva....

last but not the least

tomorrow am going to write my last internals[pediatrics] of my ug [mbbs] life!!.......
its for 100 marks and the whole syllabus has been included this time.......wish me good luck!..:)


will defenitely miss them when i do my pg!!!

mission impossible-4

aim-to study [and revise atleast once] 250 pages of medicine..

duration-28 hrs [from today morning to 12pm tomorrow]

current status-still incomplete...............

ortho....

our orthopedics has been postponed for tomorrow...we have 2 continuous papers of one hour each from 2-4!....hope i study well and regurgitate it out properly tomorrow..:D....

"copied"

many of us would have copied in exams atleast once in our life....
when i was in high school myself and my twin bro[in case u forgot i have one!:D] used to copy a lot[i admit it] and infact we used to work as a team[a successful one:D]..later when i entered college[11th] i realized the unimportance of it and hence that habit of mine gradually wore off and fortunately it has continued till now....
but today when one of my close friends requested me to share the answer sheet with him during internals[surgery] i agreed instantly being unaware of the thing what was abt to unfold there....in the class the examiner on seeing us conversing thought i was the culprit and calmly signatured "copied" on my ans sheet!.....

i could have requested him[i just hate him] after internals regarding this but didn't do it since it wasn't my fault and to be frank don't blame my friend either for what happened!...

"boredom"

due to my internals preparations right now am suffering from so called "boredom", so just to come out of it am having a small treat......:D..[i just need an excuse to hog something!]

my surgery clinics did not go as expected..mine was a case of mesentric lymphadenitis and i presented it as it is but unfortunately it turned out to be a case of intestinal tb![according to our prof]

saw ghajini movie"s just released trailer yesterday..it looks quite impressive!!...

will relax a bit today..and may be from evening[hope so!] will start my preparations for the surgery theory internals[its on wed]

the calm before the storm

there is a saying in english "the calm before the storm" which means a peaceful and quiet period before a period of activity or trouble...thats exactly is the thing happening in my life right now...for past few weeks we didnt had any internals[other than clinics of respective postings] but now all of a sudden we have quite a few internals coming up back to back in just a short interval ...

30th of this month-obg full portions!!
31st of this month-surgery clinics
1st week of nov-surgery theory internals full portions!!
2nd week of nov-orthopedics internals full portions...

am so dead!!..wish me good luck[need lots of it!]

medicine

our med internals got over today.this time we are posted in Victoria hospital and the unit we are in is quite good,every day classes are taken and to complicate things even the juniors[2nd year-the year when the clinical postings start] have been posted.Its quite fun teaching the juniors for the simple reason being u know more than them :P...
case given to me was quite complicated where the patient had breathlessness,cough and one episode of nose bleeding , and to complicate the diagnosis he had massive liver enlargement[about 20cm!!], finally some how came to co-relate all the findings the reason being Dengue!![our Pg really saved me]

surgery internals....

surgery internals coming up on this friday....our med postings started just this week and this surgery [theory] internals is eating up all the time and we are not able to concentrate on med clinics properly:(...and more over these surgery people are known to set the paper tough so u cant take this internal for granted....lets see what happens.....:)

weekend..

good weekend coming[already started!] up and am eagerly looking forward to it this time....last few weekends have been quite hectic[coz of internals!]....will watch a movie[ironman or transformers] and may be go out and have something to satify my taste buds...paediatrics postings is good[one of the best departments in our college] and this being our last term in mbbs we ahve to make best use of the clinical postings[still medicine,obg and surgery to go!!!].....hope we utilize it properly!!!...:)

bored.....

really bored now...had an internals today....no mood to study anything and more over no new movies to watch!!.:(....

Bangalore is getting good showers these days.....hope i dont catch up with a cold or any viral infection[my bro is already ill]

on mon we have medicine internals..have abt 250 pages including Respiratery system,CNS and renal!...

still have one more day to prepare ie tomorrow!..:)

weekend ruined...

with the medicine internals coming up..have lots to study...:(....since my sundays usually begins late[get up at 10].. today decided to get up early[7] and got to college library and study little bit...came back at 4 in the evening...it was quite productive....

came back home at 5 and watched Aamir movie..thriller movie with a good twist in the end....u will enjoy it!!...

surgery over...

finally our surgery postings got over today with an internal[just like in medicine]..actually we had only 4 cases in the hospital to choose from..hernia,thyroid,breast and an ulcer case where we[myself and my friend] landed up taking thyroid case...discussion part with the prof was pretty good[since he was busy with his work he didn't get a chance to screw us!]...overall postings was quite ok[not that good]...happy that atleast we learned how to take cases properly and present in the exams!...our next postings[from today] is OBG of 6 weeks duration...!!!
today met my close friend!...it was quite good...will spend the rest of the day relaxing or may watch a movie!....

hmm...

hmm..finally obg internals got over today and it didn't go well as expected and frankly my preparations also were not so good!!..anyways its over now so no use in brooding over it!...today just blogging and may watch some movie..and guess what, Rc again lost to delhi yesterday[as expected] and we people in bangalore here have lost pretty much interest in ipl because of their pathetic performance:(..our surgery postings started yesterday and unluckily its also in B and LC hospital [like medicine] this time..so much of the time will be wasted in traveling and all...
came across this video titled "how men cry"...watch it and u will know:D..bye!

every students nightmare...!!!

really having a nightmare now since obg(obstetrics and gynecology) internals[on super Tuesday!] are fast approaching and am trying to gobble up everything possible from the text[from today evening!] to complete my first reading of the chapters alloted for the internals..only god knows when i will do my 2nd revision!!...will not be blogging till tuesday, so bye guys!!...enjoy the weekdays!!..:)

relief!

yeah finally relieved of this internals burden...can now relax a bit a for few days[skin postings :P]..paper was quite easy and not as usual lengthy!!!....have now planned to watch prison break or The Eye movie[looks scary in trailers!]..have medicine postings coming up so have to start preparing for it seriously[hope so:)]...yesterday while revising digestive system came across a condition called Anorexia nervosa -
"its a psychiatric diagnosis that describes an eating disorder by low body weight and body image distortion with an obsessive fear of gaining weight. Individuals with anorexia are known to commonly control body weight through the means of voluntary starvation, purging, vomiting, excessive exercise, or other weight control measures, such as diet pills.. It primarily affects adolescent females, however approximately 10% of people with the diagnosis are male".

this reminded of Christian bale who for his role in the movie Machinist had done the same thing [had lost more than 60 pounds!]...and usually those in professions where there is a particular social pressure to be thin (such as models) are much more likely to develop anorexia during the course of their career...dont u think they need a psychiatric evaluation???...

finally have studied some thing for my medicine internals [after nonstop studying for 2 days:)]...still have infectious diseases and metabolic diseases [and liver] to complete...but much happy now compared to my preparations few days back...finally got a torrent to download[i know its illegal] for prison break episode 14 (season 3),will be able to watch it by evening...this is one serial i follow religiously (other being Dr House).From past few days my big brother has been watching FRIENDS (serial) which he luckily (unlucky for me) got from one of his friends [first 4 seasons]..now he watches atleast 3 episodes daily and because of which we (myself and my twin brother) have been unable to use the pc in the night from past few days (some times really feel like throwing those dvds away:( )...have to study now! [yeah bunked classes today!]..by the way any Prison break or Dr house viewer out there???

Vs time

planning is one thing i really believe in and right now am doing just that for the upcoming medicine internals...we[students like me] are now expected to study 350 pages of medicine within a short span of 6 days(hope so).I could have started med 2 weeks back itself when it was first announced but since had orthopedics postings didn't feel like doing so [its unfair to neglect our clinical postings subject].This is one problem we are facing from past 2 years.What happens is that during our clinical postings usually other subjects theory internals are kept and we are unable to decide whether to concentrate on our clinical postings or on the internals.Some serious brain storming needs to be done on this issue....my plans for today is to start with endocrinology and finish with infectious diseases by sunday [a really tough job!?]...hope i succeed in this task!
