few more weeks to go....

taking 1st calls in final year is really pissing me off. U see shit cases [silly in fact] all day and get calls at midnight from other departments for references etc. Am doing this from past 3 years [almost] and frankly now i don't have the same patience and enthusiasm as i had in my first two years of resident-ship. Luckily this will be my last month of emergency calls and that's it, am done with my M.D here after 2 months of regular attendance. Hopefully i sail through the exams smoothly [2 candidates this time]. After that an year or so of senior residency here may be and will move on to next phase of my life. Phase where job responsibility will be more and personal goals are given more importance.

Smile.

A middle aged lady walks into opd with a smiling face.she greets me warmly, quietly takes her prescription slip and in the end again smiles leaving the opd.
After few minutes I realize scratching my head that this was the same lady whom I had intubated and put on ventilator few days back.timely intervention and right decisions makes a difference to the life.
these are the few instances which really puts a smile on our faces here.

Change....

If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, keep moving."

-Martin Luther King, Jr.

Just one month to go for thesis submission (took extension) and few more for final year exams(M.D) think I should pore upon my efforts more.
Daily planning is necessary and also little bit of micro planning. Divide each day into micro bits and put up a plan.if your planning is good (and executable) I think half  the work is over.u just now need to follow it with a discipline to achieve your goal.

Made it..

Jog..
Slowed down...
Brisk walk..
Jog in between..
Finally made it to finish line.!

Somethings...

Sometimes(may be always) something's can't be bought....

Patients love and their blessings.
Unexpectedly a patient improves.
A patients gift(as token of appreciation).
Guessing a rare diagnosis and it turns out to be right.
Unexpected cancelation of seminars.

My philosophy

Its always better to over investigate or treat a patient because under treatment/evaluation may kill the patient.

P.s-
Duty day playing with a ward member.

Happiness

Is when an almost dead patient comes back alive after three days of rigorous efforts and his family members thank you.

Cruel world...

Not having tried the famous chaat shop nearby I decided to drop by today after my daily routine....here shops are unlike in bangalore where they sell food and drinks together.
In this shop the owner sells just two items and his daughter (still in her preteens) accompanies him doing both the preparing and cashier job.watching all this this my enthusiasm just broke down(had already placed my order).this little girl who was supposed to be enjoying her childhood instead is working  here for her living.her father looks helpless and these days with so many rape cases being reported I can only imagine the mental trauma and insecurity he is going through.I did finish my ordered dish and came back with a pensive mood.

Treasure of cucamonga...

When you stay away from family for the first time and start missing them friends are the ones who come to your rescue...be it shopping ,bike ride or for a casual dinner you need a partner who makes it more enjoyable....one whom you can trust blindly and always there for you when asked for to share your secrets of cucamonga and more importantly enjoy your company/silly deeds....I have found one...my PARTNER IN CRIME !

Bike ride...

Yesterday was a free day(actually was on duty...2nd call) so my self with a friend of mine decided to go for a long distance ride..in my discover bike....place is a nearby temple town called mahabalipuram... Its around 99kms from here and its through ecr road(east coast road)...going in ecr is quite risky...traffic,safety and this heat...but after little persuation from my friend we decided to go for it....reached there in two hours...and came back after an hours stay....once we reached i felt that it was worth ride...ride,place and company....like they say its not the destination that matters but the journey.
