cleared mcrp-1

Exam was tough but not tough if u "prepare" and go...sound concepts and revision will save you...
I started from Feb ( for may exam) with 9-4job/night shifts ...

started with basic science and then medicine...
Basic -easterbrook basics book
Medicine -only mrcp book u ever need and Karla (reference)....NHS /nice for reference only
Did subject wise first (like neuro then cardio)..then mixed and did everything together...made notes for difficult ones and read before exam date....

Its your exam and its you who shd prepare and go for it...be confident... I repeat again that exam is not tough if u prepare for it

Key s medicine(each paper 60%med) coz many qns in basics also are medicine based ....
Regarding mcqs-did on examination only... could do only half (around 1.5k out of 3k)....and "revised" what I read.. Its always better to read one set of qns many times then many QN banks once ....
In between opds /duties revised from android app (rapid revision mrcp1)

Am a post MD candidate and now going for DM (super speciality) and doing mrcp is my dream...so if a post MD with 9-4pm job can make it anyone can.

Exam day -6hrs and 2papers -only 2things will help u- preparation and common sense approach which comes from practice /clinics

So guys plan and work hard and smartly too...

little moments of joy

i feel overwelmed and indeed very happy when i-

-see the baby's head suddenly popping out of the mothers womb[oops!] and rotates[called restitution]

-for the first time hold the baby in my hands and direct it towards the mother lying there exhausted[really appr them for this kind of hardship they undergo]....

-take the baby for suctioning and on putting the tube inside its tiny nose it Sneezes[atchoo!!]

a senior staff in my college to my friend[male!] "tell me if u taking mrcs exams,even i will take so that we can study TOGETHER"!!!!...wth[2]

After attending 4 ANC clinics i now feel my job is the best in the world!![atleast i feel like that:)]...more than the satisfaction its the gratitude and respect u get from them makes u feel so good!!...like some say "happiness of a man in this life consists of the mastery of his passions" hope i achieve it some day:)

its such a relief after having completed my final yr exams...time to party[am a teetotaler!]:P!!

p.s-last time i was in this state was after my 12th exams.

Another year goes by

Another year goes by,only 1 day until a new year begins and now is the right time to reflect on the passing year.

There have been many high and few low points[which am not going to cribble abt and write here] and would like to share some of them with you guys....

Highs
1) icmr project-this year got my recognition certificate for the completion of the ICMR project in Pathology,it was really a very nice eye opening learning experience working with our hospital's best pathologists and the patients together.

2) learning medicine-only after coming into the final i really realized and learned the art of med,its highs and lows,minute and the ability to diagnose diseases from the patients[they are the ones who really teach u!]..as Voltaire had once said "the art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease"...hope some day very soon i get this wisdom:)

3) blogging-this was my first yr into blogging and i enjoyed it and am happy to have made so many good friends.

some of my so called "Resolutions" for the coming year-
1)start preparing for pg entrance exams as soon as i get into internship[this is a must!]
2)continue with my jogging once again
3)learn from my internship as much as possible
hope i do them sincerely

p.s-my final year exams are from 5th to 13th jan-7 papers in 9 days..until then this blog will be inactive:)

2 things which really make me happy and elevate my mood in the morning are meditation and reading newspaper...they just set the pace for the rest of the day...:)

study holidays for the exams have just started this week and am all geared up for that....
now have exactly 32 more days for the preparation and am hoping to utilize it as efficiently as possible[this time have to prepare for both pracs and theory unlike in previous yrs]...have started with surgery and still have 3k pages to go[including other subjects]....
wish me good luck guys:)...really need it this time!!...

have decided to cut down on my browsing and will not be visiting other blogs quite frequently as before but will try to visit them when ever possible....:)

post holiday

hi guys..am back and unfortunately not in good mood....have mild sore throat and am in a post-holiday depression[only mild]...
vacation was really good...i didn't waste much time in traveling instead was just relaxing at home[just eating,sleeping ]...overall it was quite eventful!

my surgery postings started this week and this time we are posted in the so called "worst" unit of the department...hardly they take any classes and most of the time we spend time wandering here and there trying to join other unit classes[with out much success]....u can go anywhere and do what ever u want no body cares in our unit:)...so this month most of the time we will be spending time studying in our library[instead of in the wards]
will be going to my native[Udupi] today and will be back only on monday...so this blog will be inactive till then...bye guys[and girls!]..:)
