inj-mania
one of the nurses had taken a leave today and hence i had to take her injection room job....(in phcs usually basic drug injections are provided and a room[with a sister] will be assigned to it.)
from the time i started[around 10.30] patients kept on coming and by the time i finished the work it was around 1pm.Seeing the patients reactions here bought my childhood memories back when i used to run away from injections and do all sorts of gimmicks to avoid it[during routine vaccinations].When after uploading the drug into the syringe we press it until a drop or two spills out[ to avoid air clot formation in the artery] and children[some times adults too] here on seeing it get all sorts of phobia and instantly start crying[this is infact the best part infact and i secretly smile to myself like a devil:D]...overall it was a nice funfilled interactive learning experience and to be true was my best here till now.
p.s-one patient after getting the medication asked me whether he can take bath[since he had fever]...i said its his wish for which he replied back saying some one had told him not to do so and is now stinking like a pig!!....lol!!
saranya has bestowed me with an award..cute's blogger award..i thank her for this but i really dont know why i got it[my blog is cute??!!]!!:P

win-win
one thing that i have realized in just one month of my internship is that u really need just a little bit of patience on ur part to deal with the people[patients].Daily when u see about 50-75 patients back to back, prescribe medicines [and advice them] u tend to loose patience once in a while repeatedly answering the same silly doubts, qns and many such things and this way might hurt their sentiment...for me they are just a patient[1 in many] but for them[and their loved ones] they are just[1 in 1] one!..so it does really make a difference to them when i behave rudely or be impatient on them...so in these situations[loosing patience] what i do is just listen to them quietly like a good listener and do my job and in the way swallow that ugly beast called impatience.....that's what i call win-win situation.:)
p.s- yesterday a namoona[speciman] had come to opd[at12pm] saying his marriage is at 1 in the afternoon and need some urgent med for his illness[fever and cold]...he infact had worn the wedding dress and was in full josh!....hope the med would have worked by night;)

The "Last Lecture"
really amazing video guys.. just loved it... [plz]do watch it once!!
Randolph Frederick Pausch[3] (October 23, 1960 – July 25, 2008) was an American professor of computer science and human-computer interaction and design at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pausch learned that he had pancreatic cancer, a terminal illness, in September of 2006. He gave an upbeat and adage-laden lecture entitled "The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" on September 18, 2007 at Carnegie Mellon, which became a popular YouTube video and led to other media appearances. He then co-authored a book called The Last Lecture on the same theme, which became a New York Times best-seller. Pausch died of complications from pancreatic cancer on July 25, 2008.

no title
it has been just 2 days that i have been posted here and already feel freaked out!!..My previous posting was such a heaven even though it was a 9-4 job[unlike here where its just 10-1pm].
the place where am posted to looks like some old broken bungalow and after seeing the work environment[read senior sisters attitude etc..] i don't feel like working here anymore.Even the job ur expected to do here makes u loose interest like they expect u to work in the pharmacy and give medicines and what not...if that the case y the hell have they hired the nurses[and paramedics]??....still have 12 more days here!!
p.s-1-only positive thing here is tht u get holidays on sund and general festivals
2-i really miss those paeds opds and those cute children!!...:(
3-planning to watch fast and furious 4 tomorrow...any of u have already watched it?
