DAMA

On the first day of my medicine during night duty 2 interns were talking to each other saying that 2 patients went DAMA and they have to write their case sheets...i thought then that using DAMAR[heard it so] word is such a inhuman thing [since DAMAR is a slang word for dead in Kannada] to use for any patient that too among the public there.Later i came to know that DAMA is not DAMAR but acronym for Discharge Against Medical Advice..lol

p.s-one of my friends when told on the phone by a prof that give the patient DAMA replied back "dose sir??"!!!

happy weekend...today again an icu duty till 8pm!!:(...there goes my so called sunday.

Ohhhh It happens a lot here when they get the diagnoses and then it is not hard for them to get to feeling better on their own, without the help of insurance they go home without medical release!!

I hope your sunday speeds along, so that you can have some alone time!1
