finally we are midway in our surgery postings....actually have seen only few cases in these 3 weeks....those being hernia,appendicitis,TAO,thyroid case and umbilical hernia , one GOo{gastric outlet obstruction} case and a rare gynaecomastia case[presence of breast in a male..here the cause was unknown and they simply excised it as a precaution as 10% of these may turn in to a malignancy]...our unit is pretty dull and many times we have to run and join other units for discussion!...we had OT yesterday and i bunked it!...the problem is after medicine postings surgery subject becomes pretty dull!...here[in surgery] there isnt much abt history taking and also the examination part is pretty easy[in the sense u need not be an expert to pick up the signs from the patient]!!....overall its quite unsatisfactory!!!...hope we see some more good cases in the next 2 weeks....my birthday celebrations were pretty good...gave treat to my close friends!....and got few parker pens[4!] and a frame as gift from my friends!!!..:)

yeah i too feel that way about surgery n medicine postings..
medicine is somewhat mystery...(unless its a prominent case )...n surgery is not much like that...
