one thing that i have realized in just one month of my internship is that u really need just a little bit of patience on ur part to deal with the people[patients].Daily when u see about 50-75 patients back to back, prescribe medicines [and advice them] u tend to loose patience once in a while repeatedly answering the same silly doubts, qns and many such things and this way might hurt their sentiment...for me they are just a patient[1 in many] but for them[and their loved ones] they are just[1 in 1] one!..so it does really make a difference to them when i behave rudely or be impatient on them...so in these situations[loosing patience] what i do is just listen to them quietly like a good listener and do my job and in the way swallow that ugly beast called impatience.....that's what i call win-win situation.:)
p.s- yesterday a namoona[speciman] had come to opd[at12pm] saying his marriage is at 1 in the afternoon and need some urgent med for his illness[fever and cold]...he infact had worn the wedding dress and was in full josh!....hope the med would have worked by night;)

good luck with conquering your impatience!
hahahahah lol.. I hope so too.. :P thank you for letting us into the mind of a doctor..:)
lol :D
But seriously Patience is the key to lot many situations :)
I feel being COMPASSIONATE is an abosultey MUST-HAVE quality for a doc. I dont think rude/unkind ppl can make good docs...'cos to get well..the most imp thing is to be able to trust ur doc....
this from sum1 who visits the doc like visiting the grocery store!
ahaha!specimen indeed!
I totally agree with the patience part :)
And all the best to that guy in the last para... hehehe. so funny!!
ROTFL on the Groom .. !!!
Hey! The Qs that patients ask may sound "silly" for you, but its not for them, ok!
(i do that too)
