am live

am still alive folks after 36 hours of nonstop duty[from monday morning till tuesday night with only 2 hours break in between]!!..yeah that's med where u get to do all kinds of work here from a ward boy's work to that of a consultant[read intern]...basically learning wise its a great curve but ultimately after doing so much work[coz of too many patients inflow] in the end u r so tired[and frustrated] that u loose interest in the cases and just feel like going home and take rest.
This was the first time in my mbbs life i felt that i shdnt have taken this course[in the morning after 20hrs nonstop duty].I mean even after working ur ass off[like a donkey] for nonstop 2 days u get hear complaints from the profs[even nurses here!].This makes me wonder here whether we are docs or dogs!!??[obey their every order and bear with their tantrums]

p.s-2 people actually tries to bribe while on duty...guess its not that they werent happy with our work[med as a whole],its just that they were concerned!!

like i said earlier.. its only because of the hard work put in that docs are so respected in the society and are kept at par with 'god' sometimes..!

keep it up!

omg!!36 hours..Glad u survied that..I'm not sure whether I'll :(.

No one appreciates the works of an intern..Here also the same..Nurses treat the interns as if they r good for nothing..

Hiiiiiii dude, I can give a suggestion to u.When u come across a situation like doing work continuously for a long time, better try to like and love the work u r doing instead of cursing and blaming it and I'm sure,U'll definitely feel like u r divine. But,ofcourse,I agree that too much work may make it difficult to love it.And,in this context,I wud like to remind u the great saying of Vivekananda "The day you don't come across problems, take it to be granted that you are travelling on a wrong path." Actually, now I feel like I've no problems at all.So definitely I must be on a wrong path....hehe :)

Its the same case here, everywhere. The Junior doctors are not treated as equal as even Nurses. What to do, you just have to get through.
And, 36 hours!! OMG, I will definitely not be able to cope with that. U r a star, really!

I've done 56 hours of duty with 3 hrs of sleep on the 2nd day. Be happy that you won't get continuous duties. :-) You'll get used to it anyway.

I do feel for u.....we can take anything but going without sleep is something which takes everything out of us.
The profession u've chosen is a noble one which will pay off in the long run.

And we all do understand tht u r complaining in the heat of the moment:-)).

Take care!!!!!!!!!!!
