few of the reasons for me to close this blog permanently....and this time am pretty sure that am not coming back here again...When i initially started writing it was just me and this space but gradually i started changing and started writing for others.It was just wasnt me here.Frankly i think many here just read my blog coz i manage to read theirs like u scratch mine and me yours[like Raksha says] thing.And with fb this year i slowly started loosing interest in posting frequently and my posts response have been dropped accordingly.

Other main reason is that i was never truly passionate about what i write and always felt that am more interested in humor/medicine blogs and some few personal ones rather than reviews,stories and poetry.For these things i have net,newspapers and why would i be spending my time in reading such things here[sorry no offence to anyone].

After much thinking i have finally decided to put an end to this.This space will be always be special to me for many reasons-improved my language/some great cool friends.

Some day will surely come back with real me and would definitely inform you guys then...til then bye guys!! :)

many say success in any field is 99% effort + 1%luck but i think in medical field its 99% memory and just 1% luck...coz medical science is more of fact based and the little bit of clinics u do is no where near the amount of theory u need to know.Many of our seniors[read profs] say key is to understand the things and do them practically but i think most the things u read/hear cant be seen and its impractical to expect to learn everything just by clinical knowledge.And this problem of retaining things is more so when u r preparing for competitive exams like pg,upsce etc where more than what to remember its more of how to remember.

Just think for a sec..how in gods name are u going to remember the mc se of Carbamazepine drug or the drugs causing SLE by just understanding the subject or agonist of any particular receptor..?? Either u have to study it byheart like we did during high school [even mathematical problems weren't spared then] or just use some memory techniques like acronyms,mnemonics and apply them accordingly.

Making a mnemonic or any acronym is like creating a music..its depends on your personality[like an art] and time and interest u invest in doing it....if u really want to remember anything u just have to invest accordingly and frankly there is no other short cut.

Throught my UG like [and even now] i was quite famous for this among my friends and in fact some of my mnemonics which i had made then are helping me even now for my exams..Some of them are-

rIght-right side heart murmurs Increase on inspiration..

among LAs anything with 2i is an amide...

WTF* pelcan-wimburger,tremmerfeld,franklin line and pelcan spur...scurvy radiological signs

cArbamazepine-Ataxia[mc]>Anemia[most serious]

key is just to use the techniques accordingly and among these the most powerful one is visual ones[like trazadone] coz what ever u hear/see is visualized inside your brain and in this way why not use it constructively and remember few things!!

days are getting colder and my schedule tighter..more classes with less time to cover them and the time spent in preparations are inversely proportion to your retention in neocortex...think good planning and time management are the keys now...

watching Inception was a big mistake...its a nice movie but no where entertaining and instead shd have seen despicable me..animation movies are always the best bet when it comes to entertainment and frankly even the worst made are quite entertaining..

blogstipation is an epidemic now...many fellow bloggers have virtually stopped writing and it has caught t on me too..i really dont think anyone is interested whether i shit,eat or sleep...this is one reason i never use twitter [last update was 27 days back saying 'i hate twitter']

lilliput living next door is quite amazing..i always hear him either crying or screaming [till his throat burst out]...and i still i haven't unleashed my ultimate weapon against him ie..chocolates...best way to make a kid your fan/follower..;)

update on life

studies seem to never end..it goes on and on and on...Nimhans entrance nearby[this sunday] and frankly i have only a single digit chance of making it....its not abt the preparation or level of competition here [around 10k write for 6 seats] but one thing called LUCK [which i think dont have]...

saw "shes out of my league" movie today...pretty good time-pass one and the character kirk resembles a lot to one my close friends.

every time i eat something out i have a bad stomach upset the next day...dont know whether its my immunity or the unhygienicity of the street food.

not getting psychiatry during feb exam was in deed a blessing in disguise for me....i dont think thats field is for me...[dealing with addicts and depressed souls is so contagious]

should re-pick up the habit of reading good books and playing video games...i so much miss my xbox....when ever i see any top game on the net i just feel am missing something in my life and the first thing am going to do after joining a pg is buy a new set.

'we are what we repeatedly do'-trying to make some changes in my daily routine like getting up early [ie by 8am!;)]..hope it works out well.

birthday post...

its already june and feels like just yesterday i have finished by internship...this is one part of my medical life which i will cherish forever....those night duties,funny patients,cute babies,free breakies from pgs...miss them all.

6 birthdays coming up in 9 days...5 of my friends[including mine-today]...its only when ur twin wishes for ur birthday u can reply back "wish u the same";)

my daily routine has been going crazy...almost daily i get up late and end up being an insomniac at nights...shd bring it back to my old ones.

is it only me that am finding fb boring these days..its the same old updates/videos....

people always tend to forget 2 things in life-grass is always greener[seems like] on the other side and that in swimming u can control only ur swimming and not how others do it.

i really get pissed when people wish for ur birthday on seeing fb,orkut etc...seems like they just wish for the sake of it.

too many street dogs cropping up across my street...atleast there r 5-7 young ones....planning to treat them with biscuits in the near future.

watched 'Shutter island' movie[in psp]..a great psychological thriller with good twist in the end[another Scorsese masterpiece].

patience really helps..

Over years i have found out[by experience] that what ever situation ur in a little bit more patience at that very moment makes a lot of difference....like when you are constantly getting irritated while studying by others[mom especially] or when confronting an irritated child[due to sickness] and its parents or in obg labour rooms where the ever pouring admission [atleast 25-40 new in a 12 hr shift totaling around 60] makes u loose ur cool and frequently usually end up shouting at them.

At the start of my internship last yr i had made a decision..never frustrate out on an ailing patient's kins,a child's parents[from my personal experience] and on a pregnant lady having labour pains [which is equivalent to an amputated finger].Looking back at it now makes me really contended and happy that atleast somewhere i was right for a moment and treated the people the way they deserve.

p.s-

one of my close friends still regrets for shouting at those innocent pregnant ladies.

i loose my cool when it comes to incompetent nurses and ward boys.

saw legend of bagger vance yesterday....nice entertaining watch...[starring Matt damon and Will smith]

with aiims exam nearby [this sunday] i shd be totally into books now which unfortunately am not [regret about this every minute]...sometimes i totally loose motivation [also the opposite] and end up watching movies,browsing etc...[almost 31/2 movies in 4 days]

this summer heat is really making me addicted to ice-creams...almost every alternate day i eat one and luckily havent fallen sick yet.[really miss those lollies which i used to have during my school days]

watched Talladega nights yesterday...with Will Ferrell in it as a driver who grows up becoming a driver.Thoroughly enjoyed it [being his fan] with its silly humor and good storyline.

More i read psychiatry the more i think am having hypochondriasis[especially bipolar disorder]....may be am too much into the subj and some self evaluation.

finally have got all my graduation snaps..totally love them and will always cherish that day.Only regret is that i havent taken any snap together with my best friend [since ukg we are together].We were so involved during that event that neither of us realized wht we were missing.

finally,atlast[and after little bit of luck must say] i got my name registered in my state council..tht means am a legally certified doc who can start practising and moreover people from now on can sue me for my misadventures[pretty scared]!....getting this work done itself was a big pain in the ass....extension,getting the duplicate challan and those stupid office people[our collg is a govn one] who make u go around 100 times to get a sign done.

Studying for long hours[though not consistent] has become a routine now...but i still feel internship was better with just work and little bit of academic thing.

Havent watched a single good movie from a month..quite a record for me....waiting for IM2..planning to see this one in big screen[hope this isnt a pseudo-3D like CotTs].

spending 3 hrs[council people made me wait till evening so had no other go] alone[!!] in Mcd yest was just too aweful...now half an hour had to buy something to keep myself and those cleaners busy..[empty table here doesnt show tht i havent eaten anything!]

a new life...

after grad everything has changed..no more duties,getting up early,rounds or any post duty offs....now i can do wht ever i want provided i compromise on my exam preparations....

-have realized studying for hours is not my thing...those who say they can study14-16 hrs/day r either bluffing[after success many] or are the psycho types.

-friends cant be trusted always...many who say r ur friends stab ur back[too much competition u know!] or like those small beatles eat u inside out.luckily i dont have such kinds

-exercise is a good way to destress urself...went for a jog yest and had never felt so good recently...hope i cont it...

-have to get my name reg in karn council[legally]...quite a long procedure:(

-nothing beats HOUSE...still now its a kickass serial with its trademark sarcasm and medical research.

-have been reading abt the CRPF massacre in the newspapers recently...even after seeing so many deaths @ our hosp i still feel bad for those who die for no reason...all around 80 getting blown away together shows how incapable we[India] are and the disrespect we have for lives of soldiers.
