A tophus (Latin: "stone", plural tophi) is a deposit of crystallised monosodium urate in people with longstanding hyperuricemia. Its commonest site being the ear lobule[helix].....Imagine a Trophy in a Ear[instead of an ear ring]..:P
p.s-commonest site of the inflammatery reaction in gout is first Metatarsal joint[dont get confused]
